Ningbo is a sub-provincial city in the northeastern part of the Zhejiang Province in China. It is a hilly coastal city and is among the country’s oldest cities. It is an important port city with the second best port in the country, a port that also ranks among the world’s busiest ports. It is also the economic center for the east coast of China. Yong River meanders along the city so that bridges have to be erected to ensure fast passage between the opposite areas of the city. This gave rise to the Hangzhou Bay Bridge which is currently the world’s second longest bridge.

Tianyi Pavilion Museum (Tian Yi Ge Bowuguan) is the city’s best and major tourist attraction; it is the oldest surviving library building in the country. Other attractions include the Baoguo Temple which is Southern China’s oldest intact wooden structure, Tiantong Temple, Xuedou Temple, Mount Phoenix Theme Park, Hemudu Relics, Dongqian Lake, and the Tianfeng Tower.
