The route consists of an overnight stop at Kargil, from which the city is seven (7) hours away. Chartered vehicles are readily available at the bus stations too. By air, Leh is accessed through the Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpoche Airport, where major airlines such as the Indian Airlines, Kingfisher Red, and Jet Airways operate daily trips. Flights come in from Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu and Srinagar as well as from international ports.
