Jetsgo

 
 

Jetsgo was formerly a carrier operating in Canada, its main hubs being located in Montreal, at Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, and in Toronto, at Pearson International Airport. Well known for its low cost fares, it offered flight services across Canada, to destinations located in United States and the Caribbean. In 2005, the company went bankrupt, even though, after its launch, it detained the largest part of the domestic market.

Because it was a low cost type of carrier, Jetsgo only featured Economy Class, with comfort plus seats the only derogation from this rule. More leg room and private space were offered, while the middle seat was taken away to provide more comfort for the passengers.

The frequent flyer programme was called JetSmiles, and it rewarded travellers with extra miles on future flights, depending on how much they used the company’s services.

41 destinations were serviced, and 29 aircraft composed the airline’s fleet, being mainly McDonnell Douglas, and Fokker models. The company used to cover the domestic market, by servicing routes towards a wide array of destinations inside Canada, like Vancouver, Winnipeg, Sydney, Ottawa, and Toronto. International flights were directed towards Los Angeles, Las Vegas (in the United States), and other destinations in Cuba, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.
